From farming hay to farming trees
Our story starts with Everett and Sandra Wray.
Garden Gate Nursery began by filling a need — supplying the growing cities of Pasco, Kennewick, and Richland, Washington with high-quality trees for new neighborhoods and commercial landscapes.
We soon realized landscapers and nurseries across the region needed the same reliable plant material. Today we partner with landscape contractors, cities, and retail nurseries throughout the Pacific Northwest — providing shade trees, ornamentals, and conifers grown for Northwest conditions.
Growing trees with care
Our trees are the result of many hours of pruning, fertilizing, watering, and transplanting by the skillful hands of our team members.
On average, from the time a tree is started as a cutting to the time it gets to our customer, the tree has been alive for 5 years. It has gone through multiple periods of movement, been on 2 to 3 nurseries in two states, and has been transplanted multiple times. The tree has experienced extensive care, from staking to disease management, and is guaranteed to leave our doors in pristine condition.
That care is why Garden Gate has become a trusted wholesale source for landscapers who need trees that establish well and look finished on install day.
Two farms, one wholesale focus
Our aim is to provide you with the highest quality plant we are able. We are constantly finding new ways to update our production and grow trees that will become part of future generations.
Our goal is that every tree that comes from our farm is in strong health so the end user can count on survival with proper care. When customers water and plant correctly, our plants have a near 100% survival rate.
We grow from locations in Pasco, Washington and Boring, Oregon, making pickup and delivery practical across the region — including Spokane, Seattle, Portland, Boise, the Tri-Cities, Coeur d’Alene, and beyond.

Garden Gate is a wholesale nursery first. We work with professional buyers who need consistent caliper, healthy roots, and varieties that succeed in Pacific Northwest landscapes — from Columbia Basin heat to coastal and inland climates.
